AI Meeting Tools in Microsoft Teams: What Philippine Businesses Need to Know in 2026

Instead of someone scrambling to type up minutes, Teams produces a structured recap: key discussion points, decisions made, action items with assigned names, and a timestamped transcript you can search. For Philippine businesses running hybrid and remote teams, this is one of the most immediately useful AI features in the Microsoft 365 stack — and parts of it are already included in your existing license.

The challenge is knowing exactly which features you have, which require an additional Copilot add-on, and how to stay compliant with Philippine data privacy rules when recording and transcribing meetings.

What You Get Free vs What Requires Copilot

Not all AI meeting features require a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license. Here is how the breakdown works as of 2026:

Accuracy with Philippine English: Transcription quality for Filipino English is good for standard office vocabulary and business terms, but degrades noticeably with Filipino-specific words, brand names, acronyms (BIR, DICT, NPC), and code-switching between Filipino and English. Proper nouns and local place names are frequently mis-transcribed.
