Meet Aio Nica: The AI Copilot Built Into Ledgr

Every accountant knows the feeling: you're mid-reconciliation, you need to remember the 1601-EQ deadline, and opening a new browser tab to search means losing your place and your train of thought. Small interruptions stack up. End-of-month becomes a race.

Aio Nica is built into Ledgr to eliminate that context switch. She is a live AI copilot — always present, always aware of where you are in the system, and ready to answer without you ever leaving the page you're working on.

Who Aio Nica Is

Aio Nica

Aio Nica is an AI accounting assistant embedded directly in the Ledgr platform. She lives in a sliding drawer on the right side of the screen — open it with the floating button, ask your question, and get a streamed answer in seconds.

She renders answers in full markdown: tables, bullet lists, code snippets, and inline navigation tokens that let you jump straight to a relevant module with one click.

The floating button is a rotating tesseract — a four-dimensional wireframe cube rendered in real time in Technica's colors. It animates periodically on its own: a wiggle, a jello, a bounce — a subtle signal that someone is there, ready to help.

Context Awareness Across 29 Modules

What makes Aio Nica different from a generic AI chat is that she knows where you are. Ledgr has 29 modules — from Journal Entries and the General Ledger to VAT Workpapers, WHT Certificates, AML/KYC, and Data Privacy. When you open Aio Nica inside any module, she presents starter prompts tailored to that view.

On the BIR Obligations module, she might ask: "What BIR returns are due this month?" or "Are there any overdue filings or potential penalties?"

On Payroll, she offers: "What is the total net payroll this period?" and "Are all statutory deductions computed correctly?"

On VAT Workpapers: "What is my net VAT payable this period?" and "What amount should I file for 2550M this month?"

She generates these starter prompts based on context engine data — a pre-computed snapshot of your actual books, trial balance, and module state — so her answers reflect your real numbers, not placeholder examples.

What She Knows

BIR Deadlines and Filing Status

Aio Nica tracks Philippine BIR filing deadlines in real time based on the current date. She knows:

  • 1601-C (Monthly WHT on compensation): 15th of the following month for manual filers, 10th for eFPS
  • 1601-EQ (Quarterly expanded withholding tax): last day of the month after the close of each quarter
  • 2550M (Monthly VAT return): 20th of the following month
  • 2550Q / SLSP (Quarterly VAT and summary list): 25 days after the close of each quarter
  • 2551Q (Quarterly percentage tax for non-VAT): 25 days after the close of each quarter

She flags overdue filings immediately — "OVERDUE: 2550M Monthly VAT return — 3 days ago" — so nothing slips past.

Payroll and Statutory Deductions

Ask Aio Nica to verify any employee's deductions and she will compute them from first principles using the current Philippine schedules:

  • SSS: MSC-based table from ₱4,000 to ₱30,000; 4.5% employee share, 9.5% + ₱10–₱30 employer contribution
  • PhilHealth: 5% of basic salary split equally between employer and employee, capped at ₱100,000
  • Pag-IBIG: 1–2% employee contribution on salary up to ₱5,000; 2% employer share
  • BIR withholding: TRAIN Law graduated rates from 0% on income up to ₱250,000 to 35% above ₱8,000,000 — computed monthly and annualized

She will also flag employees whose withholding tax computes to zero but whose taxable income may be approaching the threshold.

AML and Compliance Alerts

Aio Nica monitors journal entries for AML exposure. Any transaction with a line amount at or above the ₱500,000 CTR threshold under RA 9160 is flagged for review. She can also explain the difference between CDD, SCDD, and EDD customer due diligence levels, and clarify STR filing rules.

For data privacy (RA 10173), she checks your employee headcount against the NPC registration threshold of 1,000 data subjects and reminds you to designate a DPO if you are processing sensitive personal data.

PFRS Compliance

When you're working on Notes to Financial Statements, Aio Nica knows the 10 required disclosures under PFRS for Philippine companies and tracks which ones you have already authored:

NoteTitleStandard
1General InformationPAS 1.138
2Basis of PreparationPAS 1.112
3Revenue RecognitionPFRS 15
4Property, Plant and EquipmentPAS 16
5Income TaxesPAS 12
6Employee BenefitsPAS 19
7Share Capital and EquityPAS 1.79
8Related Party TransactionsPAS 24
9Contingent LiabilitiesPAS 37
10Subsequent EventsPAS 10

She flags any required notes that have not been drafted and tells you which two — contingent liabilities and subsequent events — cannot be auto-generated and must be written manually.

Financial Health Checks

At any point, ask Aio Nica whether your books balance, which accounts have abnormal balances, or whether your cash flow from operations is positive. She reads from your live trial balance and journal entries:

  • Trial Balance: flags accounts with abnormal balances (e.g., a credit balance on a debit-normal asset account)
  • Financial Statements: flags balance sheet gaps — if total assets do not equal total liabilities plus equity, she quantifies the discrepancy to the centavo
  • Cash Flow: flags negative CFO, missing opening cash (asks you to confirm), and reconciliation gaps between the indirect method statement and the GL cash balance
  • Comparative FS: flags year-over-year net income declines and total asset decreases with the exact peso change and percentage

How It Works

When you type a message and press Enter (or click the send button), Aio Nica sends your question along with the current module's context snapshot to the API. Responses stream back token by token — you see the answer building in real time, with a pulsing cursor underneath the active bubble.

If you switch to a different module while a response is in flight, the request is automatically cancelled and Aio Nica resets to the new module's context. The conversation history persists within the session; there is a Clear button in the header if you want a fresh start.

The drawer can be expanded from its default 380px width to half the screen — useful when reviewing a long compliance summary or a multi-line table.

You close it with the × button, the collapse tab, or the Escape key.

What She Is Not

Aio Nica's footer carries a clear disclaimer: not a substitute for professional accounting advice.

She is a productivity tool for trained finance professionals — she can surface the right BIR form, compute the correct SSS bracket, or flag an abnormal balance, but final decisions on filings, disclosures, and financial judgments belong with the accountant or CPA of record.

Think of her as the colleague who always remembers the deadline, always knows the regulation, and never makes you look it up — but the professional judgement stays with you.
